The biggest stars in country music took a pause for a good cause on Monday night.
And right alongside them was none other than Ottawa Senators centre Mike Fisher.
Fisher joined his fiancee, two-time Academy of Country Music entertainer of the year Carrie Underwood, for the 20th annual Celebrity Softball Challenge in Nashville. Fisher and Underwood played for the Grand Ole Opry team against the After MidNite with Blair Garner squad.
Also taking part in the game were two members of the Nashville Predators, Wade Belak and J.P. Dumont.
The softball affair, played at Greer Stadium in Nashville, has raised more than $2 million for City of Hope, a leading research, education and treatment centre for cancer and other life-threatening diseases. For more information about the event and the charity, log on to www.cityofhope.org/softball
