On having the fans come out for Fan Fest today:

It gives you a little boost when you're playing in front of fans. For the kids, they're probably having a good time watching their favourite players and just being around us. For us, it's great too.

Scoring the lone goal in today's intrasquad game:

Honestly, the forwards made a good play and I got it in the middle, up top. I wanted to get it off quick because a forward came to me and I saw an opportunity so I shot it. It went in and I gave the fans what they wanted with a little celebration at the end there.

On his signature goal celebration:

We had some charity games back in Sweden and I scored two goals there so I had done it before this year. I love scoring goals so hopefully I can do it some more this year.

On losing his first NHL goal puck during shipping:

I'm super disappointed especially for my dad and my mom. My family has been looking forward to it all summer and I told them about it. The painting was so beautiful and it's a memory that you can't really put into words. It's a dream come true to score your first goal in the NHL and then showing your family so I was super bummed about it. Hopefully I can see it again.

On stepping up his fashion game this season:

Honestly…business up top, a little casual and all plain and then crazy down low with the pants. Hopefully I can find something that you'll like and we can show it off.

Being ready for an increased role this year:

I feel ready. I had good testing and worked hard this summer. I want to take a big step this year and play in as many games as I can to show them that they can trust me.

UPDATE: 9/20/2017
