On shifting to a more defensive system:
It's a great place to start. There's a saying that a great defence is a good offence and if we can be better in our own zone — when you're better you're not playing in your own zone as much — we're going to be better and more successful in the other end.
On the captaincy:
I've been through lots in my career, through situations that often linger on and don't get resolved quickly and you deal with it. It's not a distraction and I'm not sure what the timeline is, if there is one from things we've heard. When it happens it happens.
On if he thinks a captain should be named:
I think it's important to have one, that's my own personal feeling. But, I'm not the one making the decision. Whatever they decide I'll support.
