The Ottawa Senators’ year-long commitment to community outreach programs throughout the National Capital Region continues. The following is a look at the club’s community schedule from Friday, Sept. 24, to Thursday, Sept. 30.
Minor Hockey Pre-Game and Intermission Activities
On Saturday, Sept. 25, two players from Gloucester Minor Hockey will take part in a pre-game ceremony at Scotiabank Place. Players from the Kanata Minor Hockey Association will take part in the Canadian Tire Mini Challenge, an on-ice intermission activity at Scotiabank Place, during the Senators game against the Montreal Canadiens.
On Wednesday, Sept. 29, players from the Stittsville Minor Hockey Association will be taking part in the Canadian Tire Mini Challenge as the Senators face the Toronto Maple Leafs.Postmedia Raise-a-Reader Campaign
On Wednesday, Sept. 29, Spartacat, the Senators’ ambassador of fun, will appear at the Postmedia Raise-A-Reader day at City Hall from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. The Postmedia Raise-a-Reader campaign goal is to increase awareness and raise money for children's literacy programs in Ottawa.

On Thursday, Sept. 30, Senators president Cyril Leeder will be a guest speaker at the Kanata Chamber of Commerce’s annual general meeting at the Brookstreet Hotel in Kanata. The meeting begins at 7:30 a.m. Leeder will touch on the importance for companies to demonstrate a “social conscience” and to make a contribution outside the confines of their physical workplace for the betterment of the community and its local businesses.Young Business Network for the National Capital Inspiration Event
On Thursday, Sept. 30, Senators executive vice-president and chief financial officer Erin Crowe will be a guest speaker at the Young Business Network for the National Capital inspiration event, which commences at 7 p.m.
