The Ottawa Senators’ year-long commitment to community outreach programs throughout the National Capital Region continues. The following is a look at the club’s community schedule from Friday, Oct. 1, to Thursday, Oct. 7.
Third Annual Leaders for Mental Health Breakfast

and will join more than 500 local business leaders on Wednesday, Oct. 6, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the salons of the Ottawa Civic Centre at Lansdowne Park. The one-hour event features emotive personal stories of mental health survivors from our community, with the goal of increasing the awareness of mental health issues and the need for raising funds for research and patient care.Spartacat Appearances
Spartacat, the Senators’ ambassador of fun, will visit the Bridlewood Home Hardware (90 Michael Cowpland Drive, Kanata) to celebrate the location’s first anniversary on Friday, Oct. 1, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Spartacat will also be attending the Big Wheels wrap-up event for the Every Kid a Card campaign on Saturday, Oct. 2. The event occurs in the Centrepointe Theatre parking lot (101 Centrepointe Drive, Nepean). The festivities will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with Sparty scheduled to make an appearance from 11 a.m. to noon. On Saturday, Oct. 2, players from the West Carleton Minor Hockey Association and the Richmond Minor Hockey Association will take part in the Canadian Tire Mini Challenge, an on-ice intermission activity at Scotiabank Place, during the Senators home game against the New York Rangers.
