OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators’ year-long commitment to community outreach programs throughout the National Capital Region continues. The following is a look at the club’s community schedule from Friday, Nov. 4, to Thursday, Nov. 10.
Rogers House Telethon - Ceremonial Faceoff
The Roger’s House Telethon presented by CN on Sportsnet is one of two key events co-ordinated by the Sens Foundation to raise funds for the pediatric palliative care facility. The annual television broadcast will begin this evening at 6:30 p.m., prior to the Senators’ home game against the Montreal Canadiens. Gabrielle-Ily Savard from Gatineau, alongside Roger’s Dream Team members Rachel and Mathew Gilhuis and their father, Paul (all from Ottawa), will participate in the ceremonial faceoff prior to the start of the game.
Canadian Forces Night - Ceremonial Faceoff
The Senators will host the eighth annual Canadian Forces Appreciation Night, with more than 3,000 Canadian Forces members and their families expected in attendance at Scotiabank Place for Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres. The ceremonial faceoff will feature Gen. Walter Natynczyk, Senators president Cyril Leeder and members of the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command.
United Way Leadership Skate
The annual United Way Leadership Skate will take place this Sunday, Nov. 6, at Scotiabank Place from noon to 6 p.m. This annual event recognizes and rewards donors who contribute more than $1,000 to the United Way campaign. Senators forwards Bobby Butler, Erik Condra, Colin Greening, Zack Smith, and Jesse Winchester will participate in the event.
