The Ottawa Senators’ year-long commitment to community outreach programs throughout the National Capital Region continues. The following is a look at the club’s community schedule from Friday, March 26, to Thursday, April 1.
The STAR Cup in support of Christie Lake Kids
Sens Foundation president Danielle Robinson will take part in the ceremonial puck drop as members of the Christie Lake Kids STAR (Skills through Activity and Recreation) program face off against the Ottawa Police Service and RCMP to vie for the inaugural edition of the STAR Cup on Saturday, March 27, at the Bernard-Grandmaitre Arena (309 McArthur Ave. Vanier, Ont.) beginning at 12:45 p.m.
The Sens Foundation has contributed more than $60,000 over the past three years to help fund the Christie Lake Kids STAR program. STAR provides experiences for at-risk youth to discover, develop and achieve their full potential through skating and hockey programs.

Erin Crowe, the Senators’ executive vice-president, chief financial officer and alternate governor, will attend the Ottawa Business Woman of the Year nomination reception at the Hampton Inn (100 Coventry Road) on Tuesday, March 30, at 5:30 p.m. The Ottawa Business Woman of the Year gala will be held on Thursday, April 29, which will also take place at the Hampton Inn, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Spartacat, the Senators’ ambassador of fun, will be at The Ottawa Home and Garden Show presented by RE/MAX at Lansdowne Park (1015 Bank Street) on Saturday, March 27, from noon to 1 p.m. Sparty will also be at Hunt Club Honda (2555 Bank Street) on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. On Sunday, March 28, Sparty will visit the Ottawa Gatineau Golf Expo being held at the Ottawa Athletic Club (2525 Lancaster Road) from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. before returning to the Ottawa Home and Garden Show presented by RE/MAX from noon to 1 p.m. that afternoon.
