Bulletin: The Senators In Your Community From Jan. 29 to Feb. 4

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators’ year-long commitment to community outreach programs throughout the National Capital Region continues. The following is a look at the club’s community schedule from Friday, Jan. 29, to Thursday, Feb. 4.

Sens Foundation 50/50
The Sens Foundation 50/50 jackpot on Saturday, Jan. 30, is expected to exceed the season high of $15,905 and has the potential to be worth as much as $50,000 to the lucky winner. Funds raised via the draw will support children’s charities in eastern Ontario and western Quebec. Fans can purchase tickets at the game from sellers wearing yellow shirts. Tickets are available in quantities of three (for $5) or seven for ($10) and will be on sale until the end of the second period of the Senators’ 2 p.m. home game against Montreal.

Alumni Shinny Game
On Saturday Jan. 30, at 12:30–1:30 p.m., in conjunction with the NCC, Senators alumni will play a 3-on-3 shinny game against members of the NHL alumni outdoors on the Rideau Canal Skateway’s Patterson Creek inlet off Queen Elizabeth Drive, between Linden Terrace and First Avenue. The Senators alumni scheduled to participate include Laurie Boschman, Jim Kyte, Jason Smith, Jason York and Shaun Van Allen. The NHL alumni squad will feature Ted Bulley (Chicago Blackhawks), John Chabot (Montreal Canadiens), Larry Skinner (Colorado Rockies), Doug Smith (Los Angeles Kings) and Rick Smith (Boston Bruins).

Both alumni teams will have honorary captains from the Canadian Armed Forces. Sgt. Rico Smith will join the Senators and Capt. Mark Lachapelle will join the NHL team.

Spartacat appearances

Spartacat, the Senators’ ambassador of fun, will be attending the 3-on-3 alumni shinny game for the ceremonial puck drop as the Senators Alumni square off with members of the NHL alumni on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 12:30–1:30 p.m.
