Ninth edition of the 24h of Tremblant
The ninth edition of the 24h of Tremblant will take place from Dec. 11-13. Senators defenceman Chris Phillips
and his wife, Erin, are official ambassadors of the event, which is recognized as the premier ski relay of its kind in North America. In 2008, a record 1,700 participants took part on 210 teams. This friendly race is a relay-style ski-o-thon, lasting 24 consecutive hours.Senators carry Olympic flame through Ottawa and Gatineau
Senators president Cyrill Leeder will be joined by Mike Fisher, general manager Bryan Murray, and Bill Courchaine, director of sales and corporate partnerships, in carrying the Olympic torch through the parts of the city of Ottawa and Gatineau. Fisher will carry the torch tonight at about 6:50 p.m. along Boulevard du Carrefour to the intersection of Boulevard de la Cité. On Saturday, Dec. 12, Murray will carry the torch at around 12:10 p.m. as the relay crosses the Alexandra Bridge to St. Patrick Street between the SamueldeChamplain monument and Sussex Drive. Courchaine will take the Olympic flame along Palladium Drive up to Scotiabank Place at 8:40 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13, whileLeeder will take the torch on King Edward Avenue near Laurier Avenue East and go south to Osgoode Street on Monday, Dec. 14, around 7 a.m.Senators make Christmas visit to local hospitals
The Senators will be making Christmas visits to local hospitals on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 2:30 p.m. The players will meet with patients at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (401 Smyth Rd., Ottawa), while Pascal Leclaire and Alexandre Picard will pay a visit to the pediatric department at L'Hôpital de Gatineau (909 La Vérendrye Blvd. Gatineau).
