Bulletin: Sens Foundation to distribute $128,000 to Gatineau charitable organizations

OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators Hockey Club announced today it will be hosting a special evening with the Gatineau Chamber of Commerce before the Senators’ home game against the Philadelphia Flyers tonight at Scotiabank Place. The Sens Foundation will present a combined amount of $128,000 to 11 Gatineau charities.

This special event, taking place at 6 p.m. at the Scotiabank Place’s The Ledge restaurant on the 400 gallery level, will see Cyril Leeder, COO of the Ottawa Senators and Scotiabank Place and foundation board member, address the attendees prior to the cheque presentations.

The Sens Foundation, through its annual financial granting process, will be donating various amounts to 10 charities from the Gatineau region. The Fondation du CSSS de Gatineau will be the 11th recipient, receiving $50,000 raised through the Bell Sens Soirée event held in February 2008.

Today’s beneficiary day will feature the Sens Foundation, along with over 125 members of the Gatineau Chamber of Commerce and 30 representatives of the participating charities, presenting cheques to the following 11 Gatineau region charitable organizations in the listed amounts:
Fondation du CSSS de Gatineau - $50,000
Centre de formation en enterprise et récupération de l’Outaouais - $15,000
Centre Espoir de Gatineau - $10,000
La maison Mathieu-Froment-Savoie - $10,000
Les Grands Frères et Grandes Soeurs de l’Outaouais - $10,000
Les petits déjeuners de la Soupière de l’Amitié - $10,000
Académie des retraités de l’Outaouais - $5,000
Espace Outaouais - $5,000
La Mie de l’entraide - $5,000
Saga Jeunesse - $5,000
One Parents Families Association of Canada - $3,000
