Bulletin: Sens First 500 Appreciation luncheon scheduled for Oct. 14

by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators
OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators first of two First 500 Appreciation Luncheons will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Scotiabank Place. As part of the Fans First initiative instituted during the 2008-09 campaign, the first 500 season ticket holders who renewed their tickets for the 2009-10 season were invited to attend one of the two luncheons. The second one will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

In recognition of the loyal support of Sens Army, the event provides an opportunity for season-ticket holders to attend a Senators practice followed by a 90-minute luncheon hosted by Gord Wilson, one of the club’s radio broadcasters and host of SensTV. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., a panel discussion will be held with Senators general manager Bryan Murray, forward Alex Kovalev and former Senators defenceman and current Team 1200 radio host Jason York.

On the heels of last season’s successful launch of the program, Senators president Cyril Leeder will host two Fans First luncheons later this season. They will include panel discussions with members of the Senators executive and hockey staffs in addition to representatives from the opposing team on that day. Season ticket holders will be sent information on how to purchase tickets for the Thursday, Nov. 19 (Pittsburgh) or Tuesday, Feb. 9 (Calgary) sessions.

Past luncheons have highlighted NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, St. Louis Blues president John Davidson, Boston Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli, Philadelphia Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren, and Murray, Daniel Alfredsson and Alex Picard of the Senators.
