Bulletin: Senators trade Auld to Dallas for a sixth-round draft choice

OTTAWA – Ottawa Senators general manager Bryan Murray announced today the club has traded goaltender Alex Auld to the Dallas Stars for their sixth-round selection (acquired from San Jose) in the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Auld, who joined the Senators in July 2008, went 16-18-7 with a 2.47 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage in 43 games during the 2008-09 campaign.

The 28-year old native of Thunder Bay, Ont., began his career with the Vancouver Canucks and has also played with the Florida Panthers, Phoenix Coyotes and Boston Bruins.

In 183 career National Hockey League games, Auld has posted a 74-75-25 record with six career shutouts, a 2.76 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage.

Auld was Florida’s second-round pick (40th overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
