Spartacat, the Senators’ ambassador of fun, will open the doors to Scotiabank Place at 8:30 a.m. Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to Scotiabank Place. The Ottawa Food Bank and Kanata Food Cupboard will be on hand to accept food and donations to help stock its cupboards for the upcoming fall season.
Fans will get the chance to watch Senators players take to the ice for the red and white game at 10:15 a.m. The teams will practice before and after the game, with practices beginning at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Fan Fest begins outdoors on the Gate 1 plaza at 8 a.m. with a number of interactive components from the GM Sens Street Tour. In addition, fans can bring their cameras to take pictures with the Prince of Wales Trophy, President’s Trophy and Jack Adams Trophy. The canine unit from the Ottawa Police, along with the city of Ottawa’s Fire Prevention division and Childfind Ottawa will be on-hand, while entertainers such as jugglers, balloonists and face painters will join the festive atmosphere.
The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free pancake breakfast, courtesy of the Ottawa Senators Foundation, while all fans who enter Scotiabank Place will receive a Senators pompom.
Also, starting at 8 a.m., Sensations will be set up to sell new and used Senators equipment in the Gate #1 plaza tent. The sale will include items such as skates, gloves, sticks, shafts, padding and more.
Free parking is available all day at Scotiabank Place. Festivities from Fan Fest will wrap-up at approximately 1:30 p.m.
