by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today they have signed free-agent goaltender Andy Chiodo to a one-year, two-way contract.

Chiodo, 26, spent last season with Dynamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League, where he posted a 6-11-3 record with a 3.66 goals-against average in 26 games.

Chiodo has played in eight career National Hockey League games, all of them during the 2003-04 season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he posted a record of 3-4-1 with a 3.42 goals-against-average.

Originally selected by the New York Islanders in the sixth round (166th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Chiodo did not sign with New York and was then selected by the Penguins in the seventh round (199th overall) of the 2003 draft.

A Toronto native, Chiodo played three seasons with the Ontario Hockey League’s St. Michael’s Majors before turning professional in 2003-04.
