OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today recalled centre Serge Payer from the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators on an emergency basis to play in tomorrow afternoon's game against the New York Rangers at Scotiabank Place.
Payer, a 27-year-old native of Rockland, Ont., has three goals, eight assists and 20 penalty minutes in 24 games with Binghamton this season. This will be Payer's second career appearance for the Senators, after playing five games (recording one assist and two penalty minutes) with Ottawa in 2003-04.
Binghamton's next game is tonight, when they host the Norfolk Admirals at 7:05 p.m. The Senators are in seventh place in the AHL's East Division with seven wins, 14 losses and three overtime losses for 16 points.
