Bulletin: Senators recall Kelly Guard from Binghamton (AHL)

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators recalled today goaltender Kelly Guard from the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators on an emergency basis for tomorrow's game against the Atlanta Thrashers at Philips Arena. He has been recalled in the event Ray Emery cannot dress after suffering an upperbody injury during practice in Atlanta earlier today. Martin Gerber will start in goal for Ottawa.

In his last start, Guard made 25 saves in a 5-3 losing effort to the Providence Bruins on Sunday, Nov. 5. The 23-year-old has a 3-4-1 record, a .898 save percentage and 2.87 goals-against-average in eight games with Binghamton this season.

Guard attended the Ottawa Senators 2006-07 training camp and was assigned to Binghamton on Sept. 26 after posting a 1-1-0 record, a .919 save percentage and 2.73 goals-against-average in three pre-season games.

Guard posted a 25-19-0-1 record in 51 games played with the B-Sens in 2005-06. The native of Prince Albert, Sask., was signed as a free agent by Ottawa on May 11, 2004.
