The Ottawa Senators today recalled forward Bobby Butler
from the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
Butler, 23, has recorded 15 goals, along with eight assists and 17 penalty minutes in 25 games with Binghamton this season. Butler was recently named Reebok/AHL Rookie of the Month for November, when he scored nine goals – including four game-winners – and added six assists for 15 points in 14 games.
Butler signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Senators on March 29 and appeared in two National Hockey League games in 2009-10, scoring no points. The native of Framingham, Mass., recorded 61 goals, 60 assists and 88 penalty minutes over his four-year 153-game collegiate career at the University of New Hampshire. He was a finalist for the 2010 Hobey Baker award after scoring 29 goals and adding 24 assists in 39 games during his senior season.
