SENATORS RECALL PATRICK EAVES ON EMERGENCY BASIS
Forward set to replace injured Mike Fisher in Tuesday's line-up
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators recalled right-winger Patrick Eaves from the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis to play against the Canadiens in Montreal on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
Eaves, 21, is joining the NHL club to replace centre Mike Fisher, who suffered an upper-body injury in the first period of Ottawa's 6-5 shoot-out victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Corel Centre on Monday, Oct. 10. Fisher will be re-evaluated Tuesday, but will not be available to play against the Canadiens.
In Binghamton's season opening 4-3 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Phantoms last Saturday, Eaves did not record a point.
The Fairbault, Minn. native had three assists in four pre-season games with the Ottawa Senators before being assigned to Binghamton on Sept. 21.
Eaves was Ottawa's first-round pick, 29th overall, in the 2003 NHL entry draft.
