Bulletin: Senators recall Eaves from Binghamton (AHL)

Binghamton forward to replace Spezza in Monday's lineup if he can't play

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators recalled today right-winger Patrick Eaves from the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis. Eaves will only replace Jason Spezza (aggravated right hip flexor) in the event he cannot play when the Senators face the Colorado Avalanche in Denver Monday, Dec. 12.

In his last four emergency recalls this season, Eaves recorded two goals and an assist in six games. The 21-year-old last dressed for the NHL club, scoring the winning-goal in Ottawa's 6-2 victory over the New York Islanders on Nov. 25. and then went without a point against the Boston Bruins on Nov. 26.

In 18 games with Binghamton this season, the Fairbault, Minn., native has five goals and eight assists, is -7 and has 10 penalty minutes. The Binghamton Senators are sixth in the East Division with 7-15-2-1 record over 25 games. There next game is at home on Friday, Dec. 16, against the Norfolk Admirals.
