OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today recalled defenceman Brian Lee on an emergency basis from the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
In nine AHL games with Binghamton this season, the 22-year-old has one goal, three assists and 19 penalty minutes.
Lee split his first two pro seasons between Ottawa and Binghamton. In 2007-08, he had an assist in six games with Ottawa and three goals and 22 assists over 55 games with Binghamton. The Moorhead, Minn., native played most of 2008-09 in Ottawa, recording two goals, 12 assists and 14 penalty minutes in 53 games. Lee contributed 12 points (2 goals, 10 assists) and 41 penalty minutes over 27 games with the B-Sens last season.
Lee, Ottawa’s first-round pick (ninth overall) in the 2005 draft, played in four of the Senators’ six pre-season games.
The Senators next see action tonight when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7 p.m.
