Bulletin: Senators re-assign goaltender Mike Brodeur to Binghamton (AHL)

by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today re-assigned goaltender Mike Brodeur to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. He was recalled Sunday on an emergency basis to replace injured Pascal Leclaire.

Brodeur, 27, served as back-up to Brian Elliott in Ottawa’s 3-2 loss to the Washington Capitals on Sunday.

Before his recall to Ottawa, Brodeur was assigned for conditioning on Dec. 18 to the Senators’ East Coast Hockey League affiliate, the Elmira Jackals, where he has posted a record of 2-1-0 this season. Brodeur turned aside 30 shots in a 5-0 shutout victory over Toledo in his most recent game on Saturday, Dec. 18.

The Calgary native appeared in Binghamton’s 5-1 home-opener win on Oct. 8 against Adirondack, playing 55 minutes and stopping 27 of 28 shots faced before a collision with a teammate forced him to leave the game.
