The tournament, sanctioned by the Ottawa District Minor Hockey Association (ODHMA), features 16 teams from Ontario, Quebec, Prince Edward Island and Houston, Texas. The teams include the Ottawa AAA Senators, the Cornwall Superior Thunder (PEI), Clarington AAA, the Eastern Ontario Wild, the Houston Wild, the Intrépides de l’Outaouais, the Kirkland Lake Legions 87s, the Mississauga Senators, the North Bay Trappers, the New Liskeard Cubs, the Nickel City Sons, the Oakville Rangers, the Ottawa Jr. 67s, the Ottawa Valley Titans, the Upper Canada Cyclones, and the Waterloo Wolves.
The showcase tournament begins play at the Bell Sensplex at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, when Upper Canada takes on New Liskeard. The championship game will take place at 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18, and will be covered by Rogers TV 22. Games at Scotiabank Place will be played on Friday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Ottawa Senators senior senior vice-president of corporate and ticketing sales, Mark Bonneau, will be on hand to help kick off the tournament with a ceremonial faceoff prior to the Ottawa AAA Senators game against Mississauga on Friday at 2 p.m. at Scotiabank Place.
