Sens Central is a site designed for the fans and by the fans, allowing them to create blogs, share photos, upload videos and to keep in touch with other members of the Sens Army.
Each Sens Central member will have his or her own customizable profile, the ability to add friends, participate in groups, send private messages and more. The site supports mobile uploads for videos and photos to allow fans to upload content on the go and to capture their game experience and share it with friends, family and other Sens fans.
"We know that our fans are passionate about the Senators and are looking for ways to have a closer connection with the team,” said Isabelle Perreault-Lachapelle, Senators director of marketing. “Social media tools like Sens Central allow us stay connected to our fans and keep them up to date with all breaking news and information. Sens Central will be the cornerstone of our social media strategy, supported by our presence on other sites like Facebook and Twitter."
As part of the introduction of Sens Central, the Senators are searching for stories from their most loyal fans. In 100 words or less, fans are asked to describe why they are the most passionate of all Senators supporters. Selected submissions may have the opportunity to be featured on the Sens website this season. The deadline to submit stories is Sept. 1.
Sens Central is part of the National Hockey League’s introduction of fans sites for each team. Once a fan registers as a member of Sens Central, they will also be able to browse all other NHL team fans sites with the same user name and password.
