New for this season, Hockey Country Game Paks allow Senators fans to purchase packages that include three, four or five Senators games, along with tickets to two world junior games. A five-game pak (three Senators and two WJC games) starts at $200.38 per seat plus taxes
The Senators are coming off a record attendance year, when they sold out a franchise-record 38 games and averaged 19,821 fans per match. The Senators paid attendance of 812,665 was the third best in the National Hockey League for the 2007-08 season.
The Senators open their 2008-09 pre-season home schedule on Saturday, Sept. 20, when they host the New York Rangers at Scotiabank Place. Along with the Hockey Country Game Paks, tickets for all three of Ottawa’s home pre-season games will go on sale Saturday, Aug. 16, at 10 a.m.
Individual game tickets for the 2008-09 regular-season home schedule, which begins Saturday, Oct. 11 when the Senators host the Detroit Red Wings at Scotiabank Place, go on sale Saturday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m.
The Senators will continue with individual regular-season game ticket prices based on a variable pricing system where each game is designated by one of four classifications. The game classification is determined by the opponent, time of year, day of the week, rivalries and games against star players. Game classifications for the 2008-09 season include eight gold games, priced at a 30 per cent premium; seven silver games, priced at a 20 per cent premium; 12 bronze games, priced at a 10% premium and 13 value games, which will maintain the same ticket prices as the 2007-08 season. The end result for Senators fans is that prices will stay at the same level as they were last season for 20 games, while tickets for some of the top games of the season (including all three home games against the Toronto Maple Leafs) will be available to fans at lower prices than last season.
“It is the Senators’ goal each and every season to provide our fans with many affordable ticketing opportunities so that as many fans as possible are able to attend our games,” said Senators president and CEO Roy Mlakar. “Variable pricing and the support of our partners last season allowed us to provide more than 215,000 affordably priced tickets to our fans. We will strive in the current season to meet and exceed this number.”
During the 2007-08 regular season, the Senators sold 219,114 tickets for $35 or less, 107,653 tickets for $30 or less and 34,833 tickets at $20 or less.
