“The concept of the Fan Forum call was part of our Fans First initiatives; we held the first one March 5,” said Leeder. “We were the first Canadian NHL team to hold this type of conference call with season-ticket, suite holders and team management, and it was a big hit with our fans.”
Leeder added that the first Fan Forum call in March exceeded expectations with 1,242 participants on the call. “Our fans have told us that they would like to hear directly from the club in this format more often. Also, with the call being broadcast live on SensTV Online at www.ottawasenators.com, we know we will reach more of our fans.”
The Senators Fan Forum one-hour call will be hosted by Dean Brown, the play-by-play voice on the club’s radio and television broadcasts. The format for the one-hour call will have Brown first discuss several items with Melnyk, Leeder and Murray. During this period, season-ticket holders will have a chance to dial in and be placed in queue with their questions. Leclaire will join the call around 1 p.m. when he returns from his on-ice training session.
