Bulletin: Senators assign Lee to Binghamton (AHL) and recall Gerber

OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators today assigned defenceman Brian Lee to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators, and recalled goaltender Martin Gerber.


Lee, on recall for a third time this season since Dec. 13, has two goals, nine assists and 14 penalty minutes over 36 games with the NHL club. In 22 AHL games, the 21-year-old has one goal, eight assists, 28 penalty minutes and a +4 rating.

Gerber, 34, has posted six wins and as many losses in 13 games with the B-Sens this season. He posts a 2.90 goals-against average, a .911 save percentage and one shutout. He also has four wins, nine losses and an overtime loss in 14 games with Ottawa this season. He has posted a 2.86 goals-against average and .899 save percentage. He last saw action with the Senators in a 6-4 loss to the Bruins in Boston on Jan. 8.

In 100 games with Ottawa, Gerber has 49 wins, 36 losses and eight overtime/shootout losses, a .907 save percentage and a 2.76 goals-against average. In 214 career NHL games, he has 104 wins, 73 losses, seven ties, 14 overtime/shootout losses, a .910 save percentage and 2.61 goals-against average.

The Binghamton Senators (30-20-5-3) next see action tonight, when they host the Hershey Bears.
