The Ottawa Senators today assigned forward Ilya Zubov
to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators, following the club’s 4-1 win over the New York Rangers at Scotiabank Place.
In his fourth consecutive game since being recalled on Nov. 14, the 21-year old centre had one shot over 7:48 of time-on-ice this afternoon against the Rangers. He did not record any points while averaging 9:47 of time-on-ice per game during his call-up.
In 13 games this season with the B-Sens, Zubov leads the team in scoring with eight goals and 10 assists. He also has six penalty minutes and a +6 rating.
The native of Chelyabinsk, Russia, was Ottawa’s second pick in the second round, 98th overall, in the 2005 NHL entry draft.
The Binghamton Senators (8-7-1-1) next see action tonight, whey they host the Philadelphia Phantoms at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. They travel to Syracuse on Sunday to face the Crunch at 4 p.m.
