by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators
OTTAWA –The Ottawa Senators today returned centre Cody Bass to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. Before making his return to Binghamton, Bass has been granted permission to return to his home in Owen Sound, Ont. for personal reasons.

Bass was recalled from Binghamton on Dec. 15 and made his NHL debut in a 7-3 home win over Atlanta that evening. In six games with the Senators, Bass recorded one assist and five penalty minutes. He tallied an assist in Thursday’s 5-2 home win over the New York Islanders for his first NHL point.

At the time of his recall, Bass had three goals, five assists, 44 penalty minutes and a +7 rating while appearing in 24 games with the B-Sens this season.

Binghamton is tied for fourth place in the AHL’s East Division with 34 points from 15 wins, 13 losses, three overtime losses and one shootout loss. The club’s next game takes place this evening when they face the Phantoms in Philadelphia.

Bass was Ottawa’s first fourth-round pick, 95th overall, in the 2003 NHL entry draft.
