by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators assigned today centre Alexei Kaigorodov to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

In his first six NHL games with the Senators, Kaigorodov had an assist, was +1 in plus-minus ratings and averaged 4:52 time-on-ice per game.

The 23-year-old was Ottawa's second-round pick, 47th overall, in the 2002 NHL draft. He signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Senators on Sept. 12.

The Binghamton Senators next game is Friday, Nov. 3 when they play host to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The B-Sens are fifth in the AHL's East Division with three wins, four losses and two shootout losses.
