OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators Alumni continue their community work this Friday, Feb. 16, when they travel down Highway 417 to Russell, Ont., to help with the Russell Minor Hockey Association's fundraising efforts for improvements to the township's arena.
The alumni will face off against RMHA coaches and volunteers, starting with a pre-game ceremony at 7:20 p.m. and puck drop at 7:30 p.m. Russell Arena is located 1084 Concession Street in Russell.
Alumni captain and former Senator Brad Marsh will joined by Laurie Boschman, Jean Payette, Larry Skinner, Kevin Kemp, Moe Robinson, Ted Bulley and John Barrett. "Russell Arena has played a significant role in the development of hockey players over the years, with many of the area's hockey associations making use of available ice time," Marsh said. "The Senators Alumni were happy to heed the call by their hockey association in raising funds to make the arena a better place for everyone."
The evening events also include a dance for adults with the live band, Gamut. Admission for adults to the game and dance is $15 or $10 for the game only, and $5 for children under 13 years of age. Tickets are available at the door, the Pronto Store and Scotiabank.
