Bulletin: Ottawa Senators And The TEAM Extend Radio Agreement

by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators
OTTAWA – Roy Mlakar, Ottawa Senators chief executive officer and president, and Chris Gordon, president of CHUM Radio, announced today the club and The Team 1200 Sports Radio have signed an multi-year extension to their agreement to broadcast Senators’ games.

The original 10-year contract expired at the end of the 2007-08 season.

“As the Senators’ hockey flagship radio station, The Team’s audience has grown with the popularity and success of the hockey club,” said Mlakar. “We believe that both groups have a perfect fit and bring multiple strengths and opportunities to each other, and we’ve worked together to enhance their programming inside and outside of game broadcasts.”

“CHUM Radio Ottawa is very excited about extending our partnership with the Ottawa Senators,” said Gordon. “With play-by-play of every game and wall-to-wall Senators coverage, The Team 1200 is the radio home of hockey in the capital. And with special events on Majic 100, CFRA and 93.9 BOB FM, listeners will get more access than ever to their favourite team.”

The Senators and The Team will continue broadcasting games on the Senators affiliate network for fans outside the listening area.
