by Staff Writer / Ottawa Senators
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today that fewer than 850 tickets remain for Friday’s 7:30 p.m. home-opener against the Northeast Division-rival Buffalo Sabres at Scotiabank Place.

Senators fans can help the team launch the 2010-11 season by joining fellow members of the Sens Army faithful in the Red Zone (Gate 1 plaza) beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The pre-game party will feature interactive games and face painting, while food and beverages will be available in the Molson Canadian Hockey House. The Peter Voith trio will also be performing.

Ottawa earned five of six possible victories against Buffalo during the 2009-10 season and has emerged victorious in 25 of the last 36 games between the teams dating to the 2005-06 campaign. Friday’s contest marks the second time the clubs have met in a season-opening contest and the first since 1995-96.

Tickets for all October and November home games are now on sale and can be purchased by visiting www.CapitalTickets.ca, by phone at 613-599-FANS (3267) or 1-877-788-FANS (3267); in person at The Sens Store at Rideau Centre and Place d’Orléans; at any Ottawa Sports Experts location, Les Galeries de Hull and at the Scotiabank Place box office.
