Signing an entry-level contract with the Ottawa Senators has given prospect Cody Bass the incentive to leave a lasting impression on the coaching staff during the 2006 development camp.
"This is a new beginning. I have new goals now. Last year when I came to the main camp it was a huge shock. It's all about experience, and I think (the development camp) will help me heading into the main camp this year. I want to give this team the challenge of making a decision about me."
As the captain of the Mississauga IceDogs last season, Bass scored 16 goals and 41 points in 67 games. He also played nine games with the Binghamton Senators and scored his first professional goal.
"My game is not built on offence," he says. "I just want to improve my skills. The Senators told me to just keep doing the things I'm doing."
