Ottawa – A Celebration of Life event honouring Max Keeping will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Canadian Tire Centre. The details for the event are as follows:
The Celebration of Life is open to the public and parking will be complimentary for all in attendance. The Gate 1 entrance (main gates) of Canadian Tire Centre will be the only point of entry for the event with doors opening at 11 a.m.
Seating will be available in the arena stands of Canadian Tire Centre, on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating on the arena floor will be reserved for the family and special guests by invitation. Members of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club will be in attendance along with Senators Sports & Entertainment staff and executives and Ottawa Senators Foundation board members
The ceremony itself will run from noon to 1 p.m. and will be televised live on CTV Ottawa as a special broadcast: “Max Keeping: A Celebration of Life”. The event will also be streamed live online at www.ottawasenators.com.
James Duthie, a former colleague of Max Keeping’s in Ottawa and now the host of The NHL on TSN, will emcee the event. Guest speakers will include Dave Ready, lifelong friend of Max Keeping; Rabbi Bulka, Rabbi Emeritus, Congregation Machzikei Hadas in Ottawa; Jim Watson, Mayor of Ottawa; Lisa Meikle-Sigouin, granddaughter of Max Keeping and Shane Holley, son of Max Keeping.
At the request of the family, flowers will not be accepted at Canadian Tire Centre for the Celebration of Life.

The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) Foundation and its Max Keeping Fund for Kids. The CHEO Foundation is matching up to $100,000 in Max Keeping honorarium donations it receives for this fund. Max, a lifetime member of the board of directors of the Foundation, was passionate about ensuring children and youth had access to afterschool, weekend and summer sport and recreation activities. SENS RINKS are year-round facilities providing free programming to people of all ages in the neighbourhoods where they are being constructed.
