On December 17, 2004, the Senators ambassador of fun joined former Ottawa Senators General Manager and then Executive Director of Capital Sports Management, Randy Sexton, to drop the puck on the 1st Annual Ottawa Senators Novice Holiday Classic.

In the first year, the event welcomed 52 teams. Today, Sparty returned to the Bell Sensplex to officially open the 10th edition of this fabulous minor hockey tournament where 84 teams from all over Ontario and Quebec are competing for one of five division championships and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

The Holiday Classic is presented by the Kanata, Stittsville and West Carleton Minor Hockey Associations and represents the first ever minor hockey tournament run by the Senators organization at the Sensplex, which now hosts over 40 tournaments and nearly 2,000 teams annually.
