Goaltender Martin Biron told a little white lie when he was recalled from the Rochester Americans during the 1999-00 season. Biron bruised his sternum while blocking a shot in practice for Rochester, but failed to mention the minor injury to Buffalo's training staff when he was brought up a week later. He went on to appear in 41 games for the Sabres that season and learned two valuable lessons from that experience.
You have to fight through injuries to play in the NHL and make sure you keep track of recalls for goaltender equipment. Biron talks about this and much more on the 39th episode of The Morning Skate.Click here to subscribe to the RSS Feed
