The injury bug has struck again as one of the Sabres leading point getters during the post-season will miss Game Three of the Eastern Conference Semifinals tonight against the Ottawa Senators.
Tim Connolly, whose 11 points are tied with Daniel Briere for the team lead, will not be available for tonight's game after being cut down by Peter Schaefer just 21 seconds into his first shift in Game Two on Monday night.
"Timmy walked right into that one," Ruff stated following Game Two. "That was about as good a setup as you can get and it's a tough hit to take."
During his pre-game press conference on Wednesday, Ruff categorized Connolly's upper-body ailment as "day-to-day."
Connolly had scored five goals and added six assists in the first eight post-season games of his career.
He missed the entire 2003-04 season due to post-concussion syndrome, following concussion sustained in preseason game against Chicago in Rochester on October 2, 2003.
