Sitting here two and half hours before puck drop and wondering if we might see Patrick Lalime in goal today.

You might think that's a crazy notion since the Sabres have played one game followed by two days off. However, Lindy Ruff said over the weekend that we'll see Lalime this week.

That would lead one to guess that appearance would come Saturday in Atlanta after game today against the Islanders, Wednesday at the Rangers, and home Friday against Vancouver.

However, Lindy said that we would likely see Lalime sooner rather than later in the week.  My guess is today, since the matchup of Milller vs Lundquist at Madison Square Garden is a must see for all fans around the league, followed by Miller vs Luongo on Friday in Buffalo.

If the scenario plays out that way, we'll probably see Lalime twice this week, with Saturday in Atlanta a possibility too.  We'll see if it I guessed it right.

Here's a question from Don in Ciablo, Texas.

What's Tim Connolly's status?  Also, I read that [Lindy] Ruff was upset with [Drew] Stafford's effort Friday night, will he be demoted to the third line this afternoon?

Connolly could miss this week and then return.  The hairline fracture in his back will heal with rest.  The way i understand it is that it's a pain issue for connolly.

As for Stafford, I'd be surprised if something was done after one game.  Remember, Lindy is very calculating when he talks about players with the media.
