Some of the premier hockey talent in Western New York will take to the ice this Sunday, as the 24th annual Super Sunday High School Hockey Championships returns to HSBC Arena beginning at 10 a.m.

"There are a lot of examples of high school players now in this area who have had a great amount of success," Sabres Head Coach Lindy Ruff said speaking to the 10 teams set to participate in the tournament this weekend. "We have Tim Kennedy at Michigan State who is a Buffalo native. The most famous [Buffalo native] now would be Patrick Kane and we’ve got Pat Kaleta who is in the mix.

""I’d like to wish you all the best of luck, have fun, play your hardest."

Super Sunday XXIV will feature five league championship games:

Southtowns Potter Division Eden/Lakeshore vs Iroquois/Alden 10 a.m.
Southtowns McAndrews Division West Seneca East vs Hamburg Noon
WNY Small Schools Depew vs Lewport 2 p.m.
WNY Large Schools Niagara Wheatfield vs Grand Island 4 p.m.
Explorer League South Park vs McKinley 6 p.m.

Tickets for Super Sunday are $5 in advance/$7 at the door, and are on sale now at the HSBC Arena box office.
