The fifth-annual Prospects Challenge is fast approaching. That means training camp and the preseason will be here before we know it. 

Here's what you need to know.

Prospects Challenge begins Sept. 6

The Sabres will be joined by the Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils and Pittsburgh Penguins to compete in a round-robin challenge featuring prospects from each team. The participating teams will each play three games during the course of the event, which will be held entirely at Harborcenter.

Here is the full game schedule for the Prospects Challenge:
Friday, Sept. 6
• Pittsburgh vs. Boston, 3:30 p.m.
• Buffalo vs. New Jersey, 7 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 7
• New Jersey vs. Pittsburgh, 3:30 p.m.
• Buffalo vs. Boston, 7 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 9
• Boston vs. New Jersey, 9:30 a.m.
• Buffalo vs. Pittsburgh, 12:30 p.m.

Global Series practice tickets on sale now

Heading to Sweden for the NHL Global series in November?

Fans can attend Buffalo Sabres and Tampa Bay Lightning team practices from 3 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. CET on Thursday, Nov. 7 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden.

Tickets to Sabres and Lightning practices are available for purchase now via All tickets are available at a fan-friendly price of 150 SEK. Tickets are for both practices and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

The Sabres and Lightning will face off in a pair of sold-out regular-season games at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden on Friday, Nov. 8, and on Saturday, Nov. 9. There are still a limited number of VIP and hospitality packages available for purchase via

Season Kick-Off Luncheon

The team's Season Kick-Off Luncheon, presented by New Wave Energy, will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Buffalo Sabres Foundation.

The luncheon is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. in the Lexus Club on the 100 level of KeyBank Center. The luncheon will include a roundtable discussion featuring Sabres General Manager Jason Botterill and Head Coach Ralph Krueger and Sabres captain Jack Eichel. This event will also feature the opportunity for fans to dine at a table with current Sabres players, coaches and alumni as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Individuals and corporate groups of up to 10 people interested in attending the luncheon can choose between two different packages:

• Corporate Luncheon Table - $500 - includes a table of 10 people at the luncheon.
• Single Luncheon Seat - $55 - includes one luncheon seat.

Attendees will be asked to adhere to business casual dress code as well as the team's policy of not allowing items to be brought in for autographs during the event. Free parking will be available in the ramp adjacent to the arena.
