Welcome back from the long holiday. Hockey is right around the corner so let's get right to it.

Here's what you need to know. 


Prospects Challenge info

The Sabres prospects will be on the ice this week as the Prospects Challenge gets going. They'll practice Thursday afternoon at HarborCenter as they prep for three games this weekend. 

Here's the full Prospects Challenge schedule:

Friday, Sept. 8
Pittsburgh vs. Boston - 3:30 p.m. 
Buffalo vs. New Jersey - 7 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 9
New Jersey vs. Pittsburgh - 3:30 p.m. 
Buffalo vs. Boston - 7 p.m. 

Monday, Sept. 11
Boston vs. New Jersey - 12 p.m. 
Buffalo vs. Pittsburgh - 7 p.m. 

Tickets for each game are $10 and you can purchase them right here.

We'll also be live streaming the games for your enjoyment. More details to come on that.

The Bruins have already announced their roster. It's highlighted by Charlie McAvoy, Jake DeBrusk, Zach Senyshyn and Jakub Zboril, just to name a few. 

Training camp is right around the corner

The Sabres will open training camp next Thursday with the first on-ice practices happening on Friday at HarborCenter. 

Schedule for first week of camp:

Thursday, Sept. 14
Players report for testing and physicals.
Closed to public. Media may attend for select player availability, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the press conference room.

Friday, Sept. 15
Session one: 9:45 - 10:30 a.m. (KeyBank Rink)
Session two: 11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (KeyBank Rink)
Saturday, Sept. 16
Session one: 9:45 - 10:20 a.m. (New Wave Energy Rink) / 10:25 - 11:15 a.m. (KeyBank Rink)
Session two: 11:45 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. (New Wave Energy Rink) / 12:25 - 1:15 p.m. (KeyBank Rink)
Sunday, Sept. 17
Session one: 9:45 - 10:20 a.m. (New Wave Energy Rink) / 10:25 - 11:15 a.m. (KeyBank Rink)
Session two: 11:45 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. (New Wave Energy Rink) / 12:25 - 1:15 p.m. (KeyBank Rink)

All on-ice sessions are open to the public and. Practice times are subject to change so make sure you're checking this space and our social media accounts for updated info. 

The first preseason game is set for Monday, Sept. 18 at KeyBank Center against the Carolina Hurricanes. Preseason tickets are on sale now.

And don't forget… the season starts on Thursday, Oct. 5 when Montreal comes to town. Individual tickets go on sale to the public on Sept. 16, but you can secure a seat now if you choose the game as part of a Mini-Pack.

Welcome aboard, Marty!

Martin Biron has joined the Sabres broadcast team for the upcoming season as a broadcast analyst. He'll sit beside Brian Duff for the pregame show, postgame show and during intermissions.
