The Official Site of the Buffalo Sabres

Sharpen Up: March 23, 2017

The Sabres hit the ice at HarborCenter today for practice and we'll have to see who will be joining them.

Here's what you need to know.

Dan Bylsma said on Tuesday that Kyle Okposo and William Carrier are close to returning from injury. Defensemen Dmitry Kulikov, Cody Franson, Justin Falk and Taylor Fedun, all of whom have missed at least the past two games due to injury, were considered day-to-day so it's possible that a few (or maybe all!) of them could be back at today's practice.

Another clue to lead you to believe that the Sabres are getting healthier? Well, they made some roster moves yesterday, sending forward Justin Bailey and defensemen Brady Austin and Casey Nelson back to Rochester.

Buffalo is set to take on Toronto on Saturday. They have only eight games remaining on the schedule, but five of them are at home so we hope to see you at KeyBank Center this weekend.

Hearing from the League

Tweet from @NHLPlayerSafety: Buffalos Rasmus Ristolainen will have a hearing tomorrow afternoon for interference on Pittsburghs Jake Guentzel.

For his hit in Tuesday's game on Jake Guentzel that resulted in a major for interference and a game misconduct, Ramsus Ristolainen will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety.

Bowman Showcase coverage

Yesterday, the top high school hockey players from Buffalo and Rochester suited up for the 13th Annual Scotty Bowman Showcase last night at KeyBank Center.
