SALVATION ARMY KICKS OFF KETTLE DRIVE AT FIRST NIAGARA CENTER

The Buffalo Sabres today announced that The Salvation Army will launch its annual holiday kettle drive on Wednesday, November 2 First Niagara Center before the Sabres’ 7:30 p.m. game against the Philadelphia Flyers. To kick off this year’s drive, the world’s largest Salvation Army kettle will at the arena, ready to take fan donations.
This year, the Salvation Army has expanded its efforts to include text donations. By texting BUFFALO to 80888, fans can give a gift of $10 directly to the Salvation Army and the donor will be billed by their cell phone provider. During the game, fans can also be on the lookout for a special public service announcement from the Goo Goo Dolls about this year’s kettle drive.
Salvation Army officers will be located at arena entrances with kettles to collect donations prior to the game. Sabretooth will also be on hand to help solicit contributions for the start of the holiday season.
The holiday Kettle Campaign is the Salvation Army’s signature fund-raiser in its efforts to aid those in need in the Buffalo area.
