The two-day street hockey tournament features 206 teams of boys and girls ages 5-17 in six divisions: Micron (ages 5-6), Mite (7-8), Squirt (9-10), PeeWee (11-12), Bantam (13-14) and Midgets (15-17). The Micron, Mite and Squirt divisions will play on Saturday. Sunday’s action will feature the PeeWee, Bantam and Midget divisions. All the action gets underway at 9 a.m. each day. Please check www.sabres.com for complete tournament schedule information.
The Sabres Store will also be holding a special sale of used Sabres equipment including: skates, pants, gloves and practice jerseys. Items start as low as $25, and will be available while quantities last. This special sale will start Saturday at 9 a.m. in the pavilion.
Fans will also have the chance to support the Buffalo Sabres Foundation and go home with a unique souvenir. A $20 donation to the Foundation will allow fans to take part in the “Hat & Puck Surprise.” The autographed hats and pucks will be on sale next to the general information table on the plaza area beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday. There are a limited number of items available, so the sale will only continue while quantities last.
The Sabres, in partnership with Upstate New York Transplant Services (UNYTS), will be holding a community blood drive on Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. inside HSBC Arena. To schedule an appointment to donate blood, please visit UNYTS.org or call (716) 512-7940. Photo ID is required and walk-ins are welcome.
There will also be inflatables and other activities for the kids, with plenty of food and drink available for purchase. Parking will be free in the arena ramp.
