The Buffalo Sabres added some forward depth to the organization on Friday with the signing of free agent forward Jean Dupuy to a three-year, entry-level contract. Dupuy (6'3", 195 lbs., 10/6/94; shoots left) currently plays for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
Through 19 games this season, Dupuy has tallied 19 points (5+14) and 27 penalty minutes. Dupuy already has six multi-point games this season, including a four-point night (1+3) against North Bay on October 16.
Dupuy's 19 points this season are already a career-high, surpassing the 18 he collected in 48 combined games with Sault Ste. Marie and Kingston last season. Before starting his 2014-15 OHL campaign, Dupuy attended Winnipeg Jets rookie camp this fall.
Prior to joining the Greyhounds for the 2013-14 season, the 20-year-old Dupuy played three seasons with the Kingston Frontenacs (OHL) after being selected in the 13th round of the 2010 OHL Priority Draft.
In 159 career OHL games, the Orleans, Ontario-native has recorded 52 points (22+30) and 177 penalty minutes.
