Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today that forward Paul Byron been recalled from the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.
This is the second recall of the season for Byron, who had two points (1+1) in two games for Buffalo prior to the All-Star break. The 21-year-old Byron scored his first career NHL goal at Ottawa on January 25, after picking up his first career NHL point against the NY Islanders on January 23. Byron (5’9”, 170 lbs., 4/27/1989) is third on the Pirates in scoring with 31 points (14+17) in 45 games, including a team-leading seven PPG.
Byron was selected by the Sabres in the sixth round (179th overall) of the 2007 Entry Draft.
