Petersen records back-to-back shutouts for Notre Dame

Notre Dame goaltender Cal Petersen (2013, fifth round) notched back-to-back shutouts over the weekend for the first time in his collegiate career to guide the Fighting Irish to a pair of victories over the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.
Petersen was rock-solid on Saturday, stopping all 34 shots sent his way in his way in a 5-0 victory over the Nanooks. Notre Dame gave Petersen the nod again on Sunday for his 69th consecutive start, with the third-year captain making 21 stops in a 4-0 win for his fourth shutout of the season.
Petersen has shutouts in three of his last four starts to boost his record to 11-6-2 with a 2.02 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage and was named Hockey East Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

Notre Dame forward Connor Hurley (2013, second round) did not play in the series with Alaska. Hurley has four goals, 16 points and a plus-5 rating in 17 contests.

OHL

Cliff Pu (2016, third round) came out for the second half with another strong effort Wednesday, scoring twice and adding an assist to propel London to a 5-3 win over Oshawa.
Pu kept going with a nice tip goal and another assist on Friday as the Knights toppled Sarnia 4-1, and then closed the week without a point in Sunday's 5-3 victory over the Sting.
Pu remains among the league leader with 24 goals (T-4th) and 54 points (5th) in 33 appearances.
Mississauga defenseman Austin Osmanski (2016, seventh round) went without a point last week earned as the Steelheads won twice and lost once. Osmanski has four points (1+3) in 31 games, but has gone without once since Nov. 4, a span of 18 contests.

WHL

Brendan Guhle (2015, second round) logged a cumulative minus-5 as Prince George emerged from the break with 5-1 and 3-0 losses at Victoria, but got back on track Friday with a backdoor tap-in goal plus an assist in a 4-3 win at Everett.

Guhle has nine goals and 14 points this season, including seven goals and 10 points in 12 games since being dealt to the Cougars.
Red Deer winger Brandon Hagel (2016, sixth round) notched a goal and a helper Tuesday as the Rebels downed Edmonton 3-1.

Hagel added an assist to his season haul in Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the Oil Kings, and the returned to the goal column Friday with his 18th of the year in a 4-1 loss to Kootenay. Hagel has 39 points (18+31) in 37 games this season. Included in that number is five game-winning goals.

Giorgio Estephan (2015, sixth round) picked up a pair of assists Tuesday as Lethbridge dropped a 6-4 decision at Kootenay.

Estephan added another helper the next night in a 4-1 triumph over the ICE, and then connected for two goals and two assists for his first four-point night of the season in a wild 9-7 victory at Medicine Hat.
Estephan is currently riding a four-game point streak to elevate his totals to 19 goals and 40 points through 34 contests.
Kelowna defenseman Devante Stephens (2015, fifth round) did not play in the Rockets' three games coming out of the break, leaving him with career bests of seven goals and 16 points entering the new year.
Prince Albert defenseman Vojtech Budik (2016, fifth round) was among the final cuts for the Czech Republic but was recalled for duty due to injury, playing 9:56 in a 5-2 loss to Sweden on Saturday. Prior to the tournament, Budik recorded nine assists in 30 games with the Raiders.

QMJHL

Vasily Glotov (2016, seventh round) sniped a goal and added one assist Friday as Cape Breton returned to work with a 6-3 doubling of Halifax, and got right back at it the following day with another goal in a 5-2 win over the Mooseheads.

Glotov has goals in two-straight games for the second time this season to give him 31 points (6+25) through 34 appearances with the Screaming Eagles.

NCAA

Max Willman (2014, fifth round) had the best game of his three-year NCAA career Friday, connecting for a goal and four assists as Brown played to an 8-8 tie with host Arizona State at the Desert Hockey Classic.
Willman also scored the overtime winner to thrust the Bears into the tournament final, where they'd fall 4-1 to Connecticut. Willman has collected 13 points (5+8) in 14 games.
Freshman defenseman Philip Nyberg (2016, fifth round) made his collegiate debut Friday, finishing with a minus-1 rating as Connecticut defeated St. Cloud State 4-3 at the Desert Hockey Classic.
Nyberg picked up his first point with the Huskies on Saturday, netting one assist in the Huskies' 4-1 win over Brown to capture the title.
Boston College forward Christopher Brown (2015, sixth round) went without a point as the Eagles fell to Quinnipiac 3-1 and played to a 1-1 tie with Ferris State. Brown is currently second in team scoring with 18 points (6+12) in 22 games.
Boston College defenseman Casey Fitzgerald (2016, third round) has contributed three assists through four games for the United States at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship. Team USA, who finished a perfect 4-0 in Group B, plays a quarterfinal round game Monday versus Switzerland.
Sean Malone (2013, sixth round) spun and fired for his ninth goal of the year and added an assist Friday as Harvard downed Rensselaer 5-1. Malone has gotten off to a good start to his senior season with 16 points (9+7) in 12 appearances.

Ivan Chukarov (2015, seventh round) posted a combined four shots on goal over the weekend as Massachusetts won a 2-1 overtime decision over Alabama-Huntsville and lost 4-1 to host Minnesota at the Mariucci Classic. Through 20 games, the sophomore defender has one goal and four points for the Minutemen.
Sophomore defenseman Will Borgen (2015, fourth round) logged a plus-1 rating over the weekend as St. Cloud State fell to Connecticut 4-3 and defeated Arizona State 4-2 at the Desert Hockey Classic. Borgen has one goal, nine points and a plus-4 rating in 18 games.
St. Cloud State forward Judd Peterson (2012, seventh round) produced five shots on goal but was unable to score in the Huskies' contests with Connecticut and Arizona State. Peterson has scored nine times en route to collecting 13 total points in 18 games this season.
Anthony Florentino (2013, fifth round) logged one shot on goal Friday as Providence played to a 2-2 tie with Denver. Florentino, who did not dress the next night in a 3-1 win over the Pioneers, has five goals and 12 points in his first 15 games of his fourth and final collegiate season.
Freshman winger Brett Murray (2016, fourth round) has formally enrolled at Penn State and is set to make his collegiate debut this weekend when the Nittany Lions continue the B1G schedule at Ohio State. Prior to entering school, Murray collected seven goals and 20 points in 27 games Youngstown of the USHL.

Sweden

Rasmus Asplund (2016, second round) has produced one goals and two assists while winning 70 percent of his faceoffs through four preliminary round games for Sweden at the World Junior Championship.
Asplund, who has 11 points (3+8) in 25 games with Farjestad BK, will be counted on as a key performer when the Swedes battle Slovakia Monday in a quarterfinal tilt.
Victor Olofsson (2014, seventh round) connected for points in all three games last week, included a power-play marker Wednesday as Frolunda HC defeated Lulea HF 3-1.

Olofsson is currently enjoying a five-game point streak that has boosted his totals to eight goals and 17 points through 31 contests.
Goaltender Jonas Johansson (2014, third round) has temporarily returned to Brynas IF of the SHL to serve as backup while Felix Sandstrom is away with Sweden's National Junior Team, but has yet to see any action. While with Almtina IS, Johansson has gone 10-10 with 2.00 GAA, a .919 save percentage and three shutouts.
Djurgarden IF winger Gustav Possler (2013, fifth round) has continued his recovery from a fractured ankle and has yet to appear in any games this season.
