The Buffalo Sabres today announced that they will host a “Party in the Plaza” for the team’s home opener at First Niagara Center on Friday, Oct. 14 at 5:30 p.m.
The party, the first of many planned for this season, will take place in the Plaza area located near Perry Street and Illinois Street. The event will feature live music from local band Strictly Hip in addition to special guest appearances.
Fans without tickets to the game are encouraged to come join the party free of charge. At game time, MSG’s game feed will be shown on a large video screen in the Plaza. Food and beverages will be available for purchase before the game and will continue to be sold throughout. There will be a three beer limit per person. Coolers and chairs are prohibited due to the volume of fans expected to attend.
Perry Street will be closed between Main Street and Illinois Street during all plaza parties. The Illinois Street entrances to the First Niagara Center Parking Ramp will remain accessible via South Park Avenue and Perry Street.
