HSBC Arena will be buzzing with excitement this Saturday as the live casting call for the “Sabres Emcee” contest will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. At stake is the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become an in-game host for 10 Buffalo Sabres home games during the 2007-08 regular season.
Auditions will take place outside in the HSBC Arena plaza, with each contestant being given two minutes on camera to prove why they should be a Sabres’ in-game host.
“I’m really looking forward to Saturday’s casting call,” said Matt Gould, Executive Producer of Broadcast and Game Presentation. “Based on some of the tapes we’ve received so far, people have gone out of their way to display their personality and enthusiasm for Sabres hockey. That’s exactly what we’re looking for.”
Registration begins at 9 a.m. Application forms will be available on-site, or by clicking on the link above. Contestants are encouraged to bring a completed application form and headshot with them to avoid any delays. Free parking will be available in the arena ramp.
Saturday is also the final deadline to submit DVD, VHS or Mini DV entries. These can be dropped off at the registration table until 1 p.m.
The top four finalists will compete during portions of two Sabres home games on Thursday, October 11 and Saturday, October 13. The winner will be announced live during Buffalo’s game against Columbus on Friday, October 19.
