The Buffalo Sabres announced today they have selected the final four participants in the Sabres Emcee contest. At stake is the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become an in-game host for 10 Sabres home games during the 2007-08 regular season.
Following are the four finalists:
The four remaining contestants will now be invited back to co-host (with a “pro”) various portions of an October home game. Earl Leatherland and Brian Wicka will kick things off on Thursday, October 11 vs. Atlanta. Then on Saturday, October 13, Tom Tran and Rob Murphy will go head-to-head as the Sabres host the Washington Capitals. Each night, the winner will be decided by fan reaction.
Fans will then be directed to vote online at www.sabres.com beginning Monday, October 15. Video samples of each contestant will be available for the fans who weren’t able to attend either home game. Online voting ends on Thursday, October 18. The grand prize winner will be announced live during Buffalo’s game against Columbus on Friday, October 19.
Beginning this Tuesday, fans are encouraged to visit sabres.com for a special “webisode” highlighting the final 10 contestants. The video will feature the call-backs of the 10 finalists -- including some very special “hidden talents” of the Final Four.
The contest will be determined by Buffalo Sabres taking in to account as input but not being bound by, the results of online voting. All determinations of the Buffalo Sabres are final.
Contestants submitted their own two-minute video or attended a live casting call at HSBC Arena on August 4.
